As Nessa Foundation, we are deeply concerned about the alarming decline of the ice cover on Mount Kilimanjaro over the years. The impact of global warming and climate change has led to the gradual retreat of glaciers, transforming the once majestic ice-capped summit into barren rocks and exposed slopes. This reduction in ice not only affects the mountain's aesthetic beauty but also poses significant threats to local ecosystems and vital water resources that depend on the mountain's ice melt. Without urgent action, the consequences could be severe, leading to potential impacts on tourism, water scarcity, and food insecurity in the region. Scientific research indicates that all of the mountain's ice could be gone by 2040.
In response to this critical issue, we, as Nessa Foundation, have undertaken an initiative to plant 50,000 trees around Mount Kilimanjaro as part of our efforts to combat climate change and restore the natural balance of this iconic landmark. We believe that reforestation and environmental conservation are crucial steps in securing a sustainable future for both the mountain and the communities that rely on its precious resources.
Your generous support and contributions are vital to the success of this project.
